I must admit when I first decided to finally chase my dream of starting my own home interiors business I very wrongly assumed it would be straightforward!
I mean how hard can it be?!! I suppose given my age and experience I should have known better!
My grandma always used to say "nothing worth having comes easily" - she was of course totally right.
For example, I'm no photographer but who knew you actually needed degree level skills just to get the correct shot!!! It's all about the correct lighting, a perfect backdrop, the precise angle...the list goes on and on.
Thankfully I have teenage daughters who have helped me massively and actually could not believe how terrible I was in this area!! Anyway, fast forward a few weeks and I think I am gradually getting better although there's still plenty of room for improvement.
Then there is the small matter of space. My front room has turned into a shop/warehouse/office overnight. I will, in the coming months, have to think of a new solution but for now I'm calling it 'house-flexing' :)
I would say No 11 is approximately 8 weeks old now and aside from the tears, tantrums, the "what-ifs" and massively overthinking just about everything, I can honestly say I am loving it.
Friends and Family have been amazing and especially one friend in particular who has been an absolute superstar throughout (she knows who she is)!
